I just can't believe how much he has changed in such a few short weeks!!! Lucas is such a sweet baby, and it's so fun to see his little personality start to emerge! He is very laid back and calm, an excellent eater and sleeper, and generally very easy. He's already sleeping 9-10 hours every night, and still naps four times a day!!! The only time we ever hear him cry is when he is hungry--he becomes very demanding with an almost angry sounding cry...but as soon as he begins to nurse, all is right with the world again! So, in essence, we really only have to hear him cry as long as it takes us to get him from his crib to his Mommy! He'll do a little wimpery cry when he's sleepy. We've moved Lucas into his big crib in Anthony's room, and he's loving it. He loves watching big brother Anthony run around, and Anthony likes to entertain Lucas and make him smile. Anthony is always asking to "hold that" referring to Lucas!!! Lucas loves his pacifier and has made no attempts to suck his thumb. He has found his hands over the last six weeks and always either has his hands or his paci in his mouth. He loves batting at the mirror, fish, and ball on his playmat. He is very active. He always rolls over when I place him on his tummy, and I've never seen any baby before who bounces himself in his bouncy seat! (I'll post a separate video of that later!!!) His hair still stands straight up. He loves attention and will just coo and gurgle and "talk" when anyone plays with him. I think he likes the "flying like an airplane" game the best! He also loves being kissed and tickled. He still loves being swaddled at night, though he always manages to wriggle his arms out. He really enjoys his quiet time with Daddy in the mornings.
So, that's our sweet boy in a nutshell right now. I'm savoring every minute of it!!! He's still considered a "newborn", right!?!

Happy Easter 2010!

Anthony had fun his very first time dying easter eggs! Notice the t-shirt change in the photos...Mommy wasn't thinking straight and had one of his nice shirts on when he started. And guess what--he got dye on his shirt--imagine that! Good thing it came out in the wash!

patiently waiting for the dye tablets to dissolve

say "hi mom"!!!

he was only allowed to "stir" the clear water all by himself
(a two year old, dye, and glass just don't mix!)

careful!

putting all the eggs in

wow! look at all the colors!

sweetie pie Lucas on Easter morning!
The picture turned out so dark, and it's the only one we got of him the whole day!

Anthony found some hidden easter eggs with treats in them!

Anthony's hidden easter basket

Yay! He found it!
It only took a little coaching!!!

"What's in the eggs??? Candy???"

Some playdough and other treats from Nonna were included!
Thanks, Nonna!

Lazy Day

Lucas woke up early one Saturday morning last month, and we let him fall back asleep in our bed (which we rarely do). He was so comfortable, he stayed asleep long after the sun came up! Is this the good life, or what?

More Birthday Weekend Pics

Here are a few more pics of the boys from Anthony's birthday weekend. Just too cute to pass up!

Anthony Turns Two!

Well, we had quite an exciting week around here during the first week of March! Anthony's birthday was March 4th, and he turned two years old!!! In the wee hours of the morning on March 2nd, Anthony was pretty sick with the dreaded stomach bug!!! Nonna came in town later that day to help us over the weekend, and boy am I glad she did! What would we have done without her??? On his actual birthday, we were planning to take Anthony out and about to have a day of "all his favorite things". Anthony was still recovering, so we just stayed at home, but we were still planning to have his party over the weekend. (This is the same weekend of the wedding I was in--see below--but we were going to make it work!) Unfortunately I ended up with the stomach bug myself early Saturday morning, so we had to cancel the party too!!! What a mess!!! We finally celebrated his birthday a few days later, and still made it really fun! Our theme was "green balloons" since Anthony's favorite color is green right now.

decorating the cupcake cake right before the "party"

Anthony woke up from his nap to find his doorway full of streamers!

What fun!!!

Green balloons filled the house!
(well, okay, maybe just part of one room!)

lots of presents waiting to be opened

(all wearing green, of course!)

cupcake "balloons" flying away!

One big happy family!
Now if we could just get everyone feeling better!

sweet kisses from the birthday boy!
(in case anyone was wondering how Mommy contracted the dreaded stomach bug, here's a clue--I just can't help myself when it comes to my babies!!!)

Anthony "swiping" the $20 from Great Grandad in a crevice of the entry table
He does this also with the fake credit cards that come in the mail.
(I guess he's seen me do this a time or two!)

Relaxing in Lucas' bouncy seat after a "hard day" of celebrating
He's playing with his new cell phone from Aunt Cindy--
I think it was his favorite gift!

Happy Birthday, Anthony!

Jenn's Wedding

In early March, I was in the wedding of my good friend Jenn and her (now!) husband Joe. Jenn and I work together at Dr. Goebel's office...well, when I actually work these days! ;) We've been through work stresses, pregnancies, and babies together--her son Brody is 10 days younger than Anthony! So, I was honored to be a special part of her wedding day! She held a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony and reception at the Embassy Suites in Frisco, TX. Our other dear friend Staci drove down from Oklohoma to be a part of the wedding too! I'm so glad she did! Staci's little boy Tyler is just 7 weeks older than Lucas!!! So, our boys, our husbands, and the two of us spent a lot of the weekend hanging out and catching up!!!

Me and Staci showing off our non-pregnant bodies in cute dresses!
Yay! No more maternity clothes!!! (well, for the most part!)

(Yay! We finally got a couple of pictures together, Staci!)
I have to give Staci props for holding me up during the wedding ceremony--literally!
Go to her blog--Klugh Family--to get the whole story!
