7 Weeks and Warm Weather

Anthony is seven weeks old today! I can't believe it!!! It really just seems like a couple of weeks ago I was in the hospital, and we had everyone here! We did Anthony's hand prints and foot prints last night, and I can't believe how much he's grown...his footprint is alot bigger now than the one they did in the hospital.
The weather has been beautiful here lately...warm, sunny, in the low 80s. Somehow when you're outside in the sun, it feels alot hotter than that. Maybe I'm just not ready for our 100 degree summers. ;)
We can't wait to see everyone...We all leave for Chicago on May 15, and Anthony and I will travel to Memphis on May 23 when Mario leaves for Europe! I'm looking forward to seeing how Anthony will do on the airplane, since I have the feeling he will be a world traveler like his daddy!

London, Calligraphy, and Anthony is growing!

Sorry I'm a little behind on my postings! What's new? Well, Mario returned safely home from his trip to London. I'll let him update everyone on his trip, but he had a fantastic group--very hungry to learn spiritually. While he was gone, I stayed with a friend from church whose husband was out of town too...and she has four little ones! It was definitely a learning experience for me!!!

Also, I officially received my check for my first piece of framed calligraphy. It was a great learning experience...lots of trial and error goes into this! It's going to be so much fun to see where this takes me. I'm working on getting a name for my "company" and getting some business cards made up. That's my next big project!

Anthony is getting so much bigger! Even Mario was surprised after being away for 5 days! He is just starting to smile a little (not consistently yet), and he's reaching for objects that dangle above him (like in his bouncy seat or over his play mat)! Did I mention that when I took him in to see Dr. Goebel last week he was 9 lbs!!! He's in size 1 diapers now, too! Here's another picture to hold you all over until we can mail some to you...

Photo Shoot

Well, we took Anthony for his very first official photo shoot today...he did really good overall, and we got some FANTASTIC pictures!!! I'll be mailing some to all of you next week, but here are a couple to hold you over...ENJOY!!! The one with the blue sheet is the one I plan to use for our birth announcement...it's my favorite! I personally think it should be on the cover of a magazine, but maybe I'm a little partial! ;) The colorful one is Mar's favorite. And the one of us is super-cute...check out my new haircut! Can't wait to show all of them to you! Unfortunately, none of the pictures of the three of us together turned out great...oh well!

Bad weather!

Well, we survived the storm! We had no idea it was coming!!! At 4am, Mario and I sat straight up in bed and just looked at each other in the dark before bolting into Anthony's room. It sounded like a train was coming through our courtyard! We could feel the building shaking. Mario scooped up Anthony and we all ran to the closet and sat there for awhile until everything passed by. The wind speeds were ~75 mph, and 5 tornadoes touched down in the area. The eye of the storm passed right on top of us!!! There were several areas of damage in Plano, but our apartment complex and the one next to us sustained the brunt of it. Ours held up much better than the other one...they lost some of their roofs! Many trees were uprooted or split in half; debris was blown everywhere; metal sign posts were bent in half! Mar said it looked like King Kong had walked through!!! We took some pictures of the damage, but I'm not sure how to transfer them from the camera, so I'll upload them later so you all can see!!! If anyone can talk me through it, I'll put the pics on before Mar comes home. I took him to the airport today for his London trip. He'll be gone until Tuesday night, so say a prayer for all of us!!!

Anthony has been sick! :(

Well, Anthony unfortunately caught the cold that Mario had last week. He's been really congested with a pitiful little cough. I took him to see Dr. Goebel yesterday just to be on the safe side, and he said it was nothing to worry about! Praise the Lord for our connections here! It doesn't cost us a thing when we want to swing Anthony by his pediatrician's office!!! :)
So, we're just laying low today, and hopefully he'll get the rest his body needs to fight off this little bug.

Starting our blog

Hi everyone! We wanted to do a better job staying in touch with everyone. Anthony is growing up so fast! We want you all to be a part of his life as much as you can and know "minute by minute" what's going on with him. We decided to start a blog in order to accomplish this! We're kinda fumbling through it at this point, but we'll get better, we promise!
